MCA Small Vessel Code Certification.

The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) is responsible for the enforcement of the UK Merchant Shipping Regulations and has delegated the examination and certification of certain categories of small craft to specific Certifying Authorities.

We are Authorised Code of Practice Examiners for new build, compliance and periodical surveys, tonnage measurement and MLC Inspections.

The Work Boat Code (2014) - The Safety of Small Workboats and Pilot Boats.

MGN 280 The SCV Code (2004)  - Small Vessels in Commercial Use for Sport or Pleasure, Workboats and Pilot Boats Alternative Construction Standards.

The Blue Code  - Code of Practice For The Construction, Machinery, Equipment, Stability, Operation And Examination Of Sailing Vessels, Of Up To 24 Metres Load Line Length, In Commercial Use And Which Do Not Carry Cargo Or More Than 12 Passengers.

The Yellow Code - Code of Practice For The Construction, Machinery, Equipment, Stability, Operation And Examination Of Motor Vessels, Of Up To 24 Metres Load Line Length, In Commercial Use And Which Do Not Carry Cargo Or More Than 12 Passengers.

The Red Code - The Safety of Small Vessels In Commercial Use For Sport Or Pleasure Operating From a Nominated Departure Point.

The Brown Code - The Safety of Small Workboats & Pilot Boats.
